Tonight marked the official end of my second season playing hockey.
We had 20-minute periods at Ice Oasis tonight for the women’s league Stanley Keg game….I made it up until the 3rd period before pretty much wanting to die. It didn’t help that we started the game with 4 defensemen, but a forward left partway through the game and so one of our D moved up. 3 defensemen in a 20 minute period against a VERY strong opposing line (Shauna, Molly, and Gloria) makes for a pretty tired defense.
But the slaughter wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be when I saw the team lineups (my team lost 0-2), and I’m proud to say that I was on the bench for both goals. As long as I conveniently forget that the other forward lines were playing down a bit, I’ll be confident in my D abilities.
Anyway, it was a great second season in both NCWHL and Ice Oasis….here’s to an equally fun and productive third season.
