Wake up, James!

If you’ve ever been to Helimot, you know James. He’s been working there as long as I’ve been a customer. He’s a member of the Santa Cruz Vampires motorcycle group, and has been a bouncer at some clubs in the City (DNA Lounge, I believe), so maybe you know him from that.

While a passenger in a sidecar on May 27, James was critically injured at a practice session for the Isle of Man TT in the UK. His injuries prompted the doctors to put him into a medically-induced coma, from which he has not yet awoken.

Please visit JamesCornellFund.org to help raise the $50,000 needed to bring James home to the US and continue his care.

I can’t really think of anything else to say. Wake up, James!

[Edit: daily info has been posted at James’s racing team site, Dawg Pound Racing. It’s a little creepy to read, but the news is encouraging!]

Oh, _that_ James! *sigh* I’ve been reading the updates about him, but didn’t connect that he worked at Helimot. That sucks. He was always really friendly when I was in there.

  2. Kim says:

Hey, I know that guy. Or at least I’ve talked to him at the DNA.

OMFG! That’s awful! He was always so sweet.
Thanks for posting this, Carolyn. I had no idea since I’ve been away from most news.

I was just at Helimot and they said James is on this way back to the States this week. The racers from Isle of Man raised $25,000 and donations raised the other half. Hoping James has a full recovery.

WOOHOO! Rob, that’s awesome news, thanks so much! I’m glad our donations helped. 🙂
