Wednesday was the monthly Sport-Touring.net bay area dinner and at some point in the evening, I got to chatting with Derek (nikon800 on the boards) about the Bandit.
Derek owns a motorcycle performance/accessory store in Oklahoma City; he’s going back there this weekend to check up on some stuff and offered to bring my Bandit’s carbs back with him. I rode them up to Derek’s place in Foster City last night, and they should be on an airplane now, on their way to Oklahoma. 🙂
Hopefully they just need a good cleaning by a trained professional. Derek’s going to call me if they need rebuilding so that we can discuss cost. I told him to feel free to just set them on fire or bury them or something if there’s absolutely no hope. Mmmm, Mikuni pyre.
