We’re taking a quick break at a rather garish touristy bar/hotel right on the coast…though I imagine that describes pretty much all of them. Sort of a creepy contrast to the town of La Mision, just a few kilometres south.

Diana is fighting with the gas pump. I have faith that she will eventually succeed, but at the moment it seems to be a tie. The border crossing is empty; a good sign. ¡Voy a México!

I think I could happily spend the rest of my days along Hwy 78 between Escondido and Ramona. Wow.
