tony is a bad influence.
I am very angry with Tony. I put my trust in Tony, and he has lead me down the path of darkness. "Why don't you come over and watch racing, carolyn?", Tony said, so smoothly and cunningly. "It's just one race. Try it. You'll like it. Come on over. Just one race." He tempted me with promises of Speed Vision and snacks and pleasant conversation with him and his wife. Now I sit here, an empty shell of a person, thoughts consumed with only one thing: how do I watch more racing?

Sure, it was just one race. But it was the Daytona 200. We laughed, we cried. We cheered Nicky on to victory, just as we'd jeered for Roberts' blown tire and Picotte's failed transmission (Stephanie: "Wow, that's ironic, he transfered from the Harley team and then on his first race, his bike falls apart?"). We watched in awe as tires were changed in 10 seconds. We fidgeted nervously as the seconds ticked away during the red flag ("dammit, I only recorded 2 1/2 hours, this better not last much longer"). We were there, man, and now I need more. More more more.

More Nicky. More Yates. More Anthony Gobert....mmmmmm, more Anthony Gobert. Lots more Anthony Gobert. Any Mladin, poor guy.

Tony has promised to record the races this season. This will, hopefully, prevent me from sitting on the floor next to his desk all summer saying "When's the next race? Is it now? Now? How about now? When? Is it now?". Tony will probably have a restraining order on me by fall.

i am fickle.
I have decided that there is, in fact, a very good reason for me to be watching racing this year. Here's a good reason. In fact, here's another reason. And another. And one more.

Unfortunate latest hair style aside (what is with the guys and their mutton chops this season? Jesus Christ!), Anthony's pretty pleasing on the eyes. I have to say, though, that I'm a little disappointed that I've as of yet been unable to find any sort of email address where I can contact him and suggest that he dye his hair blue this season to match the R7. I feel that this is worthy career advice, and so, if any of you happen to know Anthony personally, pass the word along, OK? And give him my phone number. Mrow.
