Nice, CA: May 10-11, 2003

I wanted a motorcycle weekend for my 26th birthday. Luckily, Peter thought that this was a good idea, and he planned a great trip for us. Starting in Palo Alto on Saturday morning, we rode to the northern shore of Clear Lake, stopping for pictures and picnics along the way.

We spent the night at the Featherbed Railroad bed and breakfast, which was really nice. They have rows of real cabooses, each one decorated in a different theme. Highly recommended.

We loitered around the bed and breakfast on Sunday, and finally headed out around noon. We took Highway 20 around Clear Lake, and then hopped on Hwy 16 -- an unexpectedly gorgeous road that twists around Cache Creek. We skirted Lake Berryessa, ended up in Napa for a nice italian lunch, and were back in Palo Alto by dinnertime.
