Pictures from the Women on Wheels Ride-In 2001

Friday, July 6:

Starting mileage: 3635
Ending mileage: 3673
Ride total so far: 548.9 miles
Map for the day

There's a WoW tradition that attendees "frog" each others' bikes with stuffed animals or other frog swag.
The awesome "frog" that was on my SVS on Friday morning.
I was thrilled to meet Dee Gagnon, author of Dee Tours and all-around awesome gal.
While still a little large for comfort, I was surprised how accomodating the BMW R1200RS was for shorties.
I took a short day ride to Shasta Dam. Here's the view of the river on the other side of the dam.
I made a new friend.
He was a real ham for the camera.
The gorgeous Shasta Lake (the snow-capped mountain in the background is Mount Shasta).
Shasta Dam was unfortunately temporarily shut off for repairs.
It was still really impressive, though.
Just barely snuck into this one.
There was a really nice, shady, park by the Visitor's Center. It's about 115 degrees F in this picture.
You could see the three Shastas: Shasta Lake, Shasta Dam, and Mount Shasta, from this vista point.
Me and the SVS at the same vista point.
I really like this picture.
Barbara from Alaska, Suzi from West Virginia, and Linda from California, at Friday evening's banquet.
I was the youngest rider there, and Esta was the oldest, at 75.
Even lions aren't safe from being frogged.
The three SVs: Danelle's, Sara's (Scrappy-Doo), and mine.
Me and Sara with the three SVs.
...and just me.
On to Day 4!
