Accidental morning off

I brought the Z into Grand Prix Honda Suzuki Blah Blah this morning, to have the new tires put on (thank you, Eric, if you’re reading this!). I’m spoiled by Hare Racing’s fast turnaround, so I said I’d wait, and am now stuck here for about an hour. Doh! Shame on me for forgetting that a major dealership will probably have more bikes in for service at any given time than the local mechanic.

So I’m at a neighboring Noahs Bagels, eating a breakfast that will probably explode my arteries, and watching the world go by.

Peter and I leave on Saturday morning for our week-long desert trip, the longest ride we’ll have ever taken together. Part of me is a little nervous — y’all know me; you know I’m a solo-rider type of girl — but I think it’ll be fun. I tried to plan the ride such that we have low-mileage days in between the longer ones, with time to sight-see at the parks and do things off the bikes too.

Right now, our rough itinerary is:
* Home to Reno
* Reno to Boulder City
* Boulder City to the Grand Canyon
* Grand Canyon to Zion
* Zion to Las Vegas
* Las Vegas to Lee Vining
* Lee Vining to home

I’ll blog when I can, but unless the desert sprouted cell towers in the past 3 years, I don’t get any cell coverage anywhere east of Reno.

Time to wander back to the dealership….mmmm, new tires.
