Greetings from Revelstoke, British Columbia! We had a relatively short day today and arrived to our motel room at 2:30pm. I’m taking advantage of the lobby’s wireless internet access before going on a solo walk around. I’m having a great time with the girls but needed a little bit of alone time before our group dinner tonight. 🙂
The riding has been spectacular (not that I expected anything less from BC!). I absolutely adore it up here. I spent most of the day in top gear, swooshing around mountain roads at 70mph while looking up at peaks and down at emerald-green lakes. Can’t beat that.
OMG – you got to go that fast with a group ride? I’m so jealous! Glad you’re enjoying it. It’s beautiful country for sure!
Wonderful. 🙂
I got drowned on the way up to Washington, and I think I’ve found a road that may change your mind about Oregon too 🙂
Wow sounds great 🙂
After your ride reports in the past myself and my lass have decided to have a motorcycle tour of Canada.
We arrive in Whistler 30th July from England.
We are staying in Revelstoke as part of the tour.
Do you recommend anywhere to visit in that area?
This is our Route
31-Whistler
01-Sun Peaks
02-Revelstoke
03-Panarama
04-Nelson
05-Nelson
06-Kelowana
07-Whistler
Been reading your website/blog for years and it was your reports from b4 you got the SV that got me back into motorcycling after a crash and also recently gave my lass the courage to pass her own test and get her rather nice Ninja 500 😀
Believe it or not, I haven’t been to a lot of those cities! *grins*
Revelstoke is very pretty; there’s a short ride you can do to the top of Mt Revelstoke (if I remember correctly, it’s called the Going to the Meadows Road). The city center is nice; very small-towny but everyone is super friendly.
We stayed at the Monashee Lodge, on Third and Wright streets, and were really happy with it. The owners are sweet and chatty and the coffee’s good. Plus, obviously, there’s internet access. 😀
I really don’t think you can go wrong in BC. The Sea to Sky Highway around Whistler is supposed to be amazing (if Peter’s reading this, he can chime in — he’s driven it in a car).
Oh, I LOVE that part of BC. SuperMooCow, see if you can work in a trip across the Kootenay Lake Ferry while you’re up near Nelson. And there’s hot springs north of town that are awesome after a long day riding.
I’ll try the route in Revelstoke as I should have an afternoon there.
The hot springs sound great!
Wow I can’t wait to get out there…
All I need now is some time off work to have a real trip… 6000 miles sounds fun 😉
Cheers for the input.
Not a Yorkshire person, are you, supermoocow?
Yorkshire 😉
Nope I’m a southerner (Essex lad) that moved to the midlands several years ago…
Had many a party in yorksire though.. great area for biking aswell 😀
Mmmm twisty roads…
I take it you think I’m from yorkshire due to calling my lady ‘lass’?
I do that as its kinda easier than saying girlfriend or partner…
Hey shouldn’t be a problem though as getting married in Whistler 😀
