Number Six.

In two weeks, Peter and I will have bike #6.

We weren’t in the market for another street bike — in fact, my Craigslist shopping has been exclusively focused on DRZ400s — but we couldn’t pass this one up.

A little over a year ago, my friend Karl (of ST.n fame) bought a 1993 pearl white VFR. Peter did the test ride for him since the bike was for sale here and Karl lives in Portland.

Peter really liked the test ride (he’s always been a VFR kinda guy) and I have a total soft spot for the white viffers.

Anyway, recently, Karl and I were chatting on IM and he mentioned offhand that he had to sell his motorcycle. After convincing me that he was serious, I asked him to sell it to us.

The VFR’s name is Dora, giving her the distinction of being our only “named” motorcycle. I don’t name my bikes (unless you count the occasional “shitty” during maintenance), but since Dora already has a name, I won’t take that away. 😉

It’ll be Peter’s bike for the most part — he’s giving himself a deadline after which he’ll sell either Dora or the Superhawk, depending on which he likes more for touring. We’ll see how that works out. 😉

So, damn, now we need the garage space. Anyone want that VF? 😉
