100 Mile House, BC

Adventure!

We took a short detour off of Hwy 97 this morning to view a chasm.
About 2km into it, a brown bear cub perked up its ears at our engines
(or bear bells! 😉 ) and lumbered off into the underbrush. Our first
bear!

If that isn’t adventure enough for you, the temperature dropped 10
degreed F while we were at the chasm, and it started hailing. The hail
followed us, off and on, all the way to 100 Mile House (~25 miles).
Thank goodness for electrics!

After crossing Begbie Summit (~1237 meters), the temperature raised
another 15 degrees and the hail petered out.

Now we’re at Tim Hortons in 100 Mile House, drinking hot drinks and
eating donuts.
